On Friday, December 15 at 7pm, celebrated early music vocalist Ruth Cunningham joins Electric Diamond at the Shrine for a distinctive Christmas concert.

Drawing inspiration from Mother Cabrini’s reflections on Mary and the Nativity, this concert weaves medieval song, chant, and contemporary improvisation.  The result: peaceful, meditative atmospheres in the candlelit space of St. Frances Cabrini Shrine.

Tickets $22 in advance, $25 at the door. Click here for tickets.

Ruth Cunningham’s Story: A classically trained musician, sound healer, and a founding member of the eminent early music vocal group Anonymous4, Ruth specializes in early instrumental and vocal music and improvisational sacred music from varied spiritual traditions in both liturgical and concert settings.

Electric Diamond’s Story: the pioneering electro-acoustic music ensemble of wind synth pioneer Stuart Diamond and ambient keyboard innovator Don Slepian has performed together for 35+ years. Their music integrates classical music with free-flowing improvisations – from Bach to Mussorgsky, from medieval dances to Native American soundscapes. They have performed in classical venues like Carnegie Recital Hall and Guggenheim Museum, in technology and science centers like MIT, Stanford, and the Liberty Science, and in the Macy’s 4th of July Celebration.
